We have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Technical Project Manager - Artificial Intelligence to join our team on a long-term federal project.

Responsibilities

As a Technical Project Manager Artificial Intelligence, you will be responsible for the implementation of AI solutions that address complex business challenges for the agency. You will collaborate closely with various program offices, data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders to create customized AI solutions that leverage the latest technologies and best practices.

  • Some high-level duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Conduct outreach activities across the agency to multiple program offices to promote OCIO efforts on AI and Robotics Process Automation (RPA).
  • Support and develop documentation to establish AI and RPA governance for the agency.
  • Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions on cloud platforms, primarily MS Azure and Google GCP.
  • Integrate GenAI LLM model using its API into our products and ensure seamless functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and API integration strategies.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of AI systems, following best practices for data protection.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of AI applications, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI, cloud platforms, and API technologies. Implement the best and most relevant practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to AI model performance or cloud infrastructure.
Required Skills
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout, and design professional skills including ability to present briefings and AI/RPA concepts to federal employees and other stakeholders.
  • Superior project management and time management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud Platforms, AI, RPA, and other new technologies.
  • Ability to accomplish goals and take directions from managers.
  • Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in deploying and managing AI solutions on major cloud platforms such as MS Azure, Google GCP, and potentially AWS.
  • GenAI LLM Expertise: Hands-on experience with the GenAI LLM model, especially its integration via API.
  • AI/ML Knowledge: Strong understanding of AI/ML algorithms, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
  • API Integration: Advanced skills in integrating and managing multiple APIs, ensuring smooth functionality and optimal performance.
  • Programming: Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI and cloud development such as Python, Java, and possibly R.
  • Data Management: Skills in handling and processing large datasets, using tools like SQL, BigQuery, or similar platforms.
  • Security: Understanding of security protocols, data encryption techniques, IAM policies, and other best practices related to AI systems on the cloud.
  • Optimization: Knowledge of techniques to enhance model performance, reduce latency, and optimize API calls.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to take initiative with minimal direction and to solve problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility-Multi-task adaptability.
  • Ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
Experience/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3 – 5 years proven experience in deploying AI solutions on MS Azure, Google GCP, or similar platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with the GenAI LLM model and familiarity with its API integration.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud).
  • Proficiency in working with multiple APIs, ensuring smooth integration and optimal performance.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security protocols and data protection best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
Education
  • Position requires BS/BA degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 10 years of experience OR a MS/MA degree in STEM discipline with 8 years of experience.
